S80 T6 Transmission Repair/Replace S80

Has anyone gotten their S80 T6 (or any S80) transmission repaired by an "other than the dealer" service like AAMCO? My previous posts made note of how the dealer (diagnosed by 2 different dealers) is suggesting I get the tranny replaced - thinking of getting a third opinion from a non-Volvo service shop...Any suggestions?
