Mechanic Disagrees with Bilsteins as Replacement Struts?! 850 1995 850

Well actually not disagree, but considers the original struts good enough. The car is approaching 130,000 miles and the spring seat sounds like it needs to be replaced. Whilst it is being replaced I am thinking of upgrading to bilstein struts. The shocks have been bilstein since 65,000 and have been great. Is it worth the while to take out the oem struts and put in bilstein?

I would be happy if the bilsteins would restore the new car ride, not create new problems eg other work suspension parts now need extra attention, and improve performance. The alternative is too simply fix the spring seat, and maybe the upper strut mount, and leave the original struts till 200,000 on the car. Difference in cost is a cool half grand.

TIA,
Lunchman, '95 850 Turbo
