Brake Dust shields- do they work, any downside to them V70-XC70 2001

I used to see a lot of them on Benz's in the 80's. They were horrible to work with. Made doing brakes a filthy job not to mention how much of the stuff I would breathe in.

Since most people only put them on the front trying to remove them to rotate the tires was a horrible job. We would have to pry them out with a screwdriver and then straighten them out so they didn't hit the caliper and make a scraping sound.

Oh yeah.. they did keep the wheels clean.
