Front Strut Mount or Front Strut Spring Seat 850 1993

Please help as I am new to Volvo's and this board.

My local shop just finished replacing the ball joints, control arms, rear shocks, tie rods, sway bar links and tires, but there is still an annoying clunking over bumps. I know the front shocks are bad, they are already scheduled to be replaced. But I have been reading about strut mounts and strut spring seats and wonder if besides having the shocks replaced, I should have them change the ? Now which one ? So many people refer to one as the other i.e. eBay. I don't know which ones actually are needed. Anyway to tell. I would rather not replace them both if I don't have to, since my kids Christmas money is being sucked into the vaccuumous void that is my car. Which I do love. Please help before my mechanic buys a new boat.
