Gas cap is the first item to check.
Make sure you don't pump gas with the ignition key ON.
After that, clean the EVAP purge valve, mounted on the radiator fan shroud.
Make sure all the hoses are attached where they belong.
Most of the time, replacing the EVAP purge valve solves the problem.
I cleaned the one on my 98 V70 about 2 yrs ago and the problem did not return.
