High fuel comsumption 850

I hope someone can give me direction to trouble shoot my problem. I have a 96 850 w/ 117304 miles on it. The past month my "check engine" is lit and I have noticed that my my fuel mileage has dropped to about 12 miles /gallon. I have pulled code PO172 (sytem too rich) bank 1. Where do I start to find the cause of my poor gas mileage and lit MIL( malfunction indicator light). Any suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks and god bless.
