I went through the same thing with my 97 850. The car was running too rich and the mileage was down to around 12 mpg around town (about what I normally get with my Yukon XL). I installed both O2 sensors and the mileage is back up to 20 mpg running around town and 30 mpg on the highway.

Its an easy dyi if you follow the directions on Bay 13.
