antenna mast S70

Hi everybody!I am not a new user to this forum,however, I was gone for a while and didn't really had time to follow the news. I have replaced the antenna mast on my whole antenna device, I think it was scantech the company that produced it. For some reason the antenna mast is way longer than the original.Anybody know why? The main problem is though the fact that the white plastic gearing keeps jumping out of its hole. Or sometimes the gearing will not slide all the way into the hole with a portion of 8-9" left out. Anybody who encountered this kind of problem, let me know please the solution. Thank you!
