Turn Signal Switch Replacement 850 1994

This is new to me. I am new to forums. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 850 sedan that had the turn signal lever snap off. Looking at the car there are 2 torx screws under the steering column cover. When I remove these screws that cover is loose but I don't understand how to remove it. The top section of the cover seems to snap together but it seems to bind near the steering wheel and I don't want to force it off.

Can someone tell me how I can get the cover off and is it difficult to replace the switch once the cover is removed.

Thanks very much.
