850 drivers door problem 850

This problem is common to the entire 850/70-series line. I fixed mine by following these instructions:

http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/door-stay_fix.html

Total cost: $6 for nuts and bolts, and about an hour of labor. Tip: get new drill bits. You'll also need some help re-mounting the door onto its hinge posts, but there's no aligning to do, so it's just brainless grunt-work. Fishing your fingers through the hole in the A-pillar to position the nuts will be the most troublesome part of the job. Patience and *decaf* will both help with that. ;)
