Evaporator valve??? V70-XC70 1998

OK my pals V70 non-turbo had a check engine light on and the dealer said his evaporator valve was no good per the codes. Is this the famous SAS valve on the exhaust manifold used in conjunction with the Air pump? If so, I want to save him a few bucks and change it for him. Please confirm!
