Gas tank check 850 1996

Took my '96 850 turbo wagon in to the local dealer this morning - a.c.went down the tubes - thank God for the warranty I bought when I bought the car! Anyhow; Ken, the Volvo service manager, said - without any promptimg, that they would check my gas tank - did I know about the recall? Also said that the recall notices are being sent out in batches. I know the dealers are expensive, but I also know that my local dealership is on the ball. (the Imported Car Store in Melbourne, Florida).
