oil change & cabin filter

Anyone can change the oil. Just make sure you have a filter which meets Volvo specs and a new crush washer. I would also suggest going syn oil so you don't need to change it every 3,000 miles. Some have trouble getting the filter off, my hands are large enough to do it quite easily, and you might want to invest in a filter wrench/puller. Make sure it will fit into the area around the filter. BTW, I use a large piece of cardboard to catch any oil drips - I tend to get messy while upside down.

Cabin filters are nice, but your 94 didn't come with one. FCP Groton sells a kit to install one, I put it in in less than an hour (I may be slow and methodical). You will need to invest in some torx screw drivers if you want to work on Volvos. Sears has a good selection. I would replace the cabin filter every time you need to replace the engine air filter - about once a year.
