850 drivers door problem 850

Hello, just joined the board and saw your post as i was scanning through. Hopefully you've been able to use some of the others' advice to come to a less costly resolution than me... I had this exact thing happen on my 97 850 about two weeks ago. I took it to a volvo mechanic who said that he may be able to weld the doorstop piece or, depending on the condition, it may need to be replaced. He wouldn't know until he "got in there." As it turned out, he replaced it. Cost for parts was $41. Cost for labor was $97.50 for 1.5 hours. It was an annoying problem...still not sure if it was $140 worth of annoying or not.
