Tires V70-XC70

If your car sees snow in the winter you should get a set of real winter tires. A set of second-hand steel rims is dirt cheap and all tires wear out eventually so you're talking about minimal extra costs.

I now live in The Netherlands where we hardly see any snow. A few years ago I put some Nokian NRWs on the 940 that I was then driving. They were sold as all-season tires in North America and as winter tires in Europe. Go figure... Anyway they were great throughout the year and are now under the 745 wifemobile. The Nokian NRW has since been superseded by a new tire which I presume is even better. I highly recommend the NRW but again, a true winter tire is likely better for what you do.
