850 GLT Mod. 1993 Help !!! 850 1993

I had a 1993 850 GLT purchased new in the fall of 1992. Overall, I liked the car and did most of the major scheduled maintenance at the dealer, and minor stuff like oil changes myself.

When the car started getting older, I encountered other problems that were too costly for doing at the dealer and did them myself (example A/C blower under dash, electric driver seat).

I found that most of the information I needed was available at "ALLDATADIY.com" and subscribed to get on line technical assistance. Very easy to follow instructions for most mechanical and electrical repairs and customized specifically for your model/year. I recommend you try it. There is a cost to subscribe for a year (US $25.00) but it is worth it considering that one visit to the dealer may be over $100. if you are lucky.

By the way, PLEASE, change/flush your 93-850 transmission oil as soon as possible if you have not done it yet. Volvo does not require it as part of regular maintenance and it cost me my transmission. A very simple and relatively inexpensive maintenance (under $150.) ended up costing me $3,000. on a 10 year old car! I no longer have it, but sold it in peak operating conditions. Overall I say I was happy with my 83-850.
