Slop 850 1995

I have a 1995 850 t-5 R and I was wondering if something is wrong with the steering. The car responds heavily to the crown in the road and to tire ruts. I have to constantly be steering the car and correcting it from drifting. The alignment is right on however, because on a good highway the car is solid as a rock. This is my first Volvo and is this just how they handle? Or is it the R's big tires? Also, my steering wheel is not totally straight when driving straight. How do I fix that?

Thanks in advance,

Greg
