850 starting problems cold weather 850 1997

Hi can anyone please help me we have an 850 that we have over the past three years had continual starting problems with.

Generally what happens is:
the temperature goes below freezing
notice charge in battery is reduced
often clicks but does not turnover
inevitably battery dies
often doors will lock unlock inexplicably

We have:
gone through 3 batteries
replaced alternator
nearly come to blows with our mechanic who suggests we continualluy are doing something wrong

But this continues to happen, help anyone have any ideas.
