Leaking sunroof V70-XC70 1998

Sorry about that. Let's try again.

Your problem describes mine to a "T". I have a '98 V70 that does the exact same thing. Turns out that the drains must have been clogged. They were cleaned and haven't had the problem since.

See if you have rust forming on the metal frame that the glass itself actually sits in. It would be at the front edge. Mine is rusted and it could be possible that water is getting in there, but mine is intermittent as well so I don't get it.

You probably just need a new seal. Incidentally, I took the car to the dealer (first time ever) and they charged me $90 to look at it. According to the "experts" and I use that term as loosely as possible, The WHOLE damn sunroof had to be replaced including the motor for $900. Without getting really dark about that trip to the dealer, I advise you to troubleshoot yourself if nothing else take it to a trusted auto glass shop.

Good luck
