Seat heater pad replacement 850

I've diagnosed my "no heat" on the driver's seat to a broken connection in the butt cushion element. Haynes rates this at 5 wrenches, which is equivalent to skull and crossbones I presume.

Anybody actually do this repair and able to offer guidance, like tools required, procedures, etc?

Otherwise, anybody ever have a shop do this and what is the cost?

It's the wife's car, it's getting colder, and the heated seat is her favorite thing about the car. Keeping her happy is of primo importance.

thanks for any and all advice. And thanks to Hamfisted for the wiring diagram.
