battery drain 850 1996

If you have a VOM, (with the car not running!) take off the NEG battery cable. Connect the positive lead of the VOM to the NEG battery post and the neg lead to the end of the cable you just removed. Set the meter to read DC voltage and set it to the smallest scale (usually 3 v). With everything in the car off, read the voltage. It should be miniscule. I forget what is allowable but I think something on the order of < .05v. If you have more, start pulling fuses one at a time until the draw stops. That is the circuit of your problem that you need to look at. And FWIW, removing a battery cable with the engine running is not one of the smartest things to do.
