Shaking during acceleration S40-V40 2001

Hey all, I just got a used S40 and was wondering if anyone might know what my issue might be. The car shakes considerably during light-moderate acceleration at around the 50-60mph range. I also noticed the check engine light blinking after flooring the accelerator (not during, but after I let off). I did this a couple times in an attempt to reproduce this and now the light is on continuously. After that, starting from a dead stop also produced the same shaky acceleration. The only things I can think of are that maybe I knocked a sensor off and the fact that I had the used car dealer change the transmission fluid before I got it. I doubt they used the volvo recommended stuff and I also doubt they fully flushed the system. Any ideas?
