Checking out '95 sedan 850 1995

Hey there- I'm in the process of checking out a '95 850 GLT sedan for one of my relatives who is looking for a safe, reliable commuter. This 850 has 108k miles, is red with gray leather, automatic, sunroof, and the owner wants $4800 for it (private sale in northern NJ). The timing belt was changed recently from what I understand. I saw the car a few weeks ago and it's immaculate inside and out. I couldn't find anything wrong with it.

However one question: Did Volvo solve the automatic transmission problems by the '95 model year (i.e., PNP switch troubles, etc.)? I hate to have my cousin buy it and then pour a lot of money into it. And I should tell her to watch out for the usual 850 quirks and maladies, I presume? (Been there, done that with my own '93) Also, this particular car has a build date of 5/95 so I'm assuming it was one of the last '95s brought over here to America. Isn't there a major difference between '95s and '96s in terms of diagnostic abilities?
