440GLT jet engine! 400 1992

Hi, my 440's exhaust sounds like air is rushing out of it. When I rev above 2000 rpm, it sounds like a jet engine, petrol comsumption is high and the car seems to to lose power when accelerating. Could there be a problem with the lambda sond or the catalytic converter? any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Damian.
