Seized Engine on 2001 V70 T5 V70-XC70 2001

Just curious, what oil was used?
I have a 2K V70 with 2,4 non T that the engine went south on the previous owner at 88K with severe wear on the cylinders. He swears it was not run out/low on oil. The engine has been partally disassembled and is a mess inside. It is covered with brown varnish and has a fair amount of sludge in it. The quick lube shop he used used Penizoil. I remeber somone telling me ages ago the Penizoil and other PA oils sludge much more than oils from other areas.
I also rember reading recently about these engines being prone and sensitive to sludging.
From all of your comments I would suspect they "forgot" the oil. Good luck I think your going to need it!!
