Initial rev up from cold 850

My 850 is no different and the reason for "why?" is the computer. It is simply doing it's job in getting the engine and emissions to operating temperature as quickly as possible. I just read an article about the XC90 V8 which has four catalytic convertors. The engineers have tweaked the Yamaha engine to idle higher at cold start to help the convertors do their job quicker. The first few seconds of any start up are the worst in terms of bad emissions. Using Synthetic oil and well maintaining you engine helps keep up with this demand.
