Brake light warning lamp blinks on when braking S70 1998

Thanks for your addition. I showed the problem to my dealer tech this morning and he said the brake light system checked okay. He also stated that sometimes the ciruit to the rear brake lamps can be affected by lower temperatures. I guess the lamps are less well seated in the sockets when the connecting parts/surfaces are contracted and cold. Sounds plausible to me...I'll go with that explanation for now...

Other possiblities include the brake pedal sensor switch and brake light relay. However my tech has not replaced many of those...

We drive on and see what happens...
