Loosing coolant S80 1999

I have been getting the intermittent "low coolant level" msg recently, and have been filling the expansion tank to the proper MAX/MIN line. Today, however the tank pretty much emptied itself(Low Coolant, Stop Engine" msg.) It is a slow leak. The car has 92K on it and I suspect the water pump has gone south! I will get under the car tomorrow and make sure it is not just a hose. If the pump is the problem, how difficult is it to replace myself? If anyone has done it and you have any advice(like don't attempt this job!) on how to successfully remove and replace, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks
