Hi - I suggest two things you might have missed.
One is the oxygen sensor in the exhaust downpipe which provides feedback to the ecu to tell it how much fuel to squirt in at any given time. This may be worn and telling it to throw in too much fuel.
Second is the fuel pressure regulator which is bolted under the fuel rail. Basically this regulates the fuel pressure to the injectors. It works using a vacuum pipe (check for vacuum leaks of course) and any excess fuel is routed back to the tank ... thats why two fuel pipes go to the fuel rail...ones a return. Anyway, if the regulator is faulty then fuel pressure may be too high and you're burning more than necessary. Be careful when messing here though coz the fuel pressure lines are under very high pressure so if you do replace the fuel regulator, use the proper clamp and not just a jubilee clip.
Both these components, if slightly worn may not give any codes.
Another thing to look for is a black sooty exhaust exit pipe or plugs .. this indicates a rich mixture and not your driving style !
Good Luck.
