2005 S40 purchase?

I drove a "new S40" as a dealer loaner car.

it felt solid, but the interior was cheap. Parts of it were showing wear (not the seats, but the trim)

it was a US base model automatic, so it felt slow to me (I've an '02 S80 T6, and my wife has a '96 855 2.3)

I've also driven a recent S60, and the S40 really isn't much smaller, but if you can swing the money for the S60 you might like it better
