Hood release lever/cable V70-XC70 1998

Anybody know if hood release cable is adjustable, and if so, how? When I pull the red release lever, only the passenger side of the hood releases. I have to get out and tug up on the hood, then get back in and pull the lever again for the driver's side latch to release. Thanks, Daire.
