'I need a new Volvo'......are you sure?

Like them or not, for a guy use to the old RWDs reliabilty, the BEST older Volvos are still the RWDs with 4 cyl engines. I'd opt for a '93-'95 turbo 940 (sedan or wagon) as it'll last at least as long as your 240 w/o major costly issues.

ALL the FWDs cost their owners ALOT more money to keep on the road and the newer ones ('99 on up) get costlier and more problematic yet. The newer Volvos are nothing like older Volvos. I won't ever own any Volvo newer than a '99.

I'd buy several Chevy's, Fords, Chryslers or Japanese makes anyday before buying a newer Volvo and they'll last just as long (if not longer) w/o the same costly problems.
