Tailgate 850 1996

It has been awhile since I did this but I am fairly certain that...

-remove the trim piece from around the handle inside the tailgate, pry gently from the bottom (I broke mine and had to buy a replacement for $8)
-remove the center brake light cover
-disconnect and remove the light housing
-remove the tailgate panel by prying from the bottom and then pushing the entire panel up
-remove the side plastic trim pieces

You should now have access. The tailgate clips will most likely break if they are not already broken. Every dealer has them in stock.

Good luck.
