Thinking of buying an S-40...

I am thinking of buying an S-40.. used. I guess I'd like to hear from
present owners... What are the common problems with the various years..
I checked the S-40 forum some but didnt get a general feel for the car
I currently have a 98 S-70 that I get to care for.. (wife's car)
and a 240 (daughter's car).. I drive a 74 VW bus or a 98 Jetta and just
finished up a 2L 16v conversion on a 83 Rabbit. i dont mind so much
working on the minor stuff but dont want to deal with a bunch of major
issues.
Opinions wanted.
