Ball Joint 850

It happened to me years ago with my 1982 Ford Granada (need I say it was a real POS). The front right ball joint broke, causing the vehicle to collapse onto the wheel. It's like locking up the brake on a single wheel. All this happened in heavy rush our traffic on I-94 in a bad area of Detroit (a bad area among the bad areas). Luckily, I was traveling in the right lane and the car pulled onto the emergency lane/shoulder all by itself. Nothing happened, although it could have been ugly.
Getting out of the car unarmed and looking for a public phone to call AAA was the most dangerous part of the day though...
