Failed Smog Check S70 1998

I thought someone else would mention the troublesome news. I have a '98 S70GLT. Last year at smog check time I found this is a common problem with that car--also happens to some years of Ford products. The Volvo dealer will provide a brochure with a drive sequence that 'USUALLY" resets the codes. It is a big hassle.
I understand that some jurisdictions not only know about the problem, but will allow a tailpipe probe test. Unfortunately my state is not such a jurisdiction. Take your brick to a Volvo shop that knows about the problem for the smog test. Don't bother with one of the generic shops.
