850 CV shaft stuck in tranny please help! 850

1994 Volvo 854 Turbo, Auto.

I cant get the passanger side CV shaft out- I yanked and yanked and the inner shaft broke where the cv boot attaches (the boot and "u-joint" came out) , so now I have the cup end that the boot attaches to stuck in the tranny.

Whats the proper way to take out a CV shaft? This one sure seems stuck, its freezing cold out and need to finish this today so any help would be greatly appriciated!

Do I need to rotate it? Unlock it somehow? Thanks a million guys.

-John
