engine cutting out when ticking over. S70 1989

Sit with engine ticking? you mean running? I'm assuming...

So basically, your car will run for about 10 minutes, and then sputter and die. If you wait, you can start it again, and it will run for about 10 minutes, then sputter and die...

If I am understanding you correctly, my first "guess" would be engine coolant temp sensor. If the car, as far as the engine management system knows, never "warms up", the car will continue to run at a full rich mixture. This eventually saturates the plugs and then you have to wait for them to dry out again. Of course this is just a "guess"...

Hope this helps,

Chris
