intermittent starting problems 850

Ready,
The switch plate is behind the key, inside the clam shell cover around the steering wheel. Once the cover is off, you will be able to see the switch plate. When it wears, you will have a hard time reaching the start contact and at times the on contact. Wiggling the key in pos III might help determine if the contact is going bad.
If it is the starter, usually the soliniod(sp) goes bad. That gives the starter juice. With the key in pos II, ground the soliniod with a long handle screwdriver and the starter should engage. If that is the case, get a new starter.
If there is no juice at the starter, the pnp switch neds to be replaced.

That is all I know, I know no more. Lots of luck,
Klaus
