Just wondering -- how much to replace thermostat?

I just got a quote from the dealer of around $140 to replace the thermostat on a 1998 S70 (the guy said it is roughly 1.5 hrs labor). I then called an indy shop that I used in the past and their cost is around $35. He sounded like it was an easy job (not needing a lift, etc). Naturally I got an appointment with the indy.

I am not much of DIY but I was just wondering why the huge discrepancy in price? How easy a job is it really?

Thanks!
