radiator leak should i use some stop leak stuff ? 850

Barr's leak, and other "stop-leak" concoctions WILL with great regularity, clog a heater core. Do you have any great desire to replace a heater core? If you do, seek therapy, NOW! The best, biodegradable, easily flushoutable, willnotkillableanything, stop leak "additive" is plain 'ole ground black pepper. Couple of tablespoons into the reservoir...stir it around so it doesn't clog the feed, run the car until the thermostat opens and then a little longer...repeat the procedure...

Will it completely stop the leak? Probably not. Will it slow the leak considerably? Most likely. Will tightening the clamp at the upper radiaot hose where it attaches to the radiator neck solve the delimma? Don't do it!

Hope this helps,

Chris
