Auto Tran Shift Points S70

I have a 2000 GLT/SE and the final shift to lockup the torque converter is at 52mph. It's a little irritating because the car has the power to lock out much earlier that that and it would improve the gas mileage.
I'm guessing that the shift points are controlled by the computer. Does anyone know if these points are in any way subject to adjustment? I suppose it would somehow compromise the EPA specs and probably can't be adjusted.
