95 850T won't start after tranny swap 850

OK, I did this job for a friend...the car has 187k and I had to swap the AT tranny. I feel I did everything right and everything went back together fine. Everything is plugged up, but the car won't start. It turns over, but won't fire up. Fuel relay works, I can smell gas after several turns, and I checked for spark and getting an intermittant spark. Checked for codes, but nothing came up in the A2 slot(1-1-1). I searched here for other spark issues, but none seem to match. I would think the plug should fire more often then it was...Anyone have any ideas? Car cranked up fine before the tranny job, and I didn't mess with anything more than I needed to on the motor.
