ECC woes - I think. 850 1996

< Glad U guys R back >
OK, so here's the deal. I recently adopted an orphan from Florida. My '96 850GLT wagon iz great!! It's my 4th Volvo & everything I'd come 2 expect.
My problem is with heat. The cabin temperature seems tied 2 the outside temp. The colder it iz outside, the cooler it stays inside. There iz still some heat, but lukewarm at best. Sweet pea haz pointed out (rather pointedly) that the passenger side iz even cooler than my side. When the mercury climbs back up above freezing I can lower the dials becuase it gets very warm (like it should).
So far, I've replaced the thermostat, replaced the coolant & flushed the heater core 4 good measure. NADA.
So waht's next?
R there any codes that could B read from the diagnostics?
What about the damper doors?
I've searched the archives & Bay 13, but couldn't find anything.
Thanx in advance.
