Alternator Woes 850 1993

I purchased a voltage regulator (p/n 1 197 311 234) for my 93 850. It is the only one listed at FCP Groton, The Volvo Site, blah blah blah, but looks nothing like the actual unit in my alternator. My regulator has the D+ wire connected to it, the new one doesn't. The only part store that shows a different regulator for my car is Autozone, and for $175.. Am I missing something, does the 1 197 311 234 regulator sold by everyone for a 93 actually not fit a 93? Autozone, AUTOZONE actually knows what they are talking about? Will the one listed from Fcp Groton and so forth work, it is like a new replacement one that just happens to look different? If so where would the D+ wire go?

I am so confused.

Where should I go to find the regulator?

Thanks,

Jeffla
