need to know what goes wrong with 850s 850

I spend much more time working on my 740 than my 850. This is because the 740 has 214K miles on it while the 850 has 144K. The 740 is easier to work on, but the 850 gives me fewer problems since it is a newer car. I've had the 850 for 18 months (bought it on E-bay) and have put 26K on it. The only things I've had to replace have been the fuel pump, tires, and heater core.

The 900 series and the 850 each have good and bad points. Have your girlfriend drive each and see which she prefers. I honestly think the car's mileage and previous service record will have more impact on the amount work it will need than the model. JMHO.
