Fault code 2-3-1... 850

This could be due to one of the oxygen sensors beginning to fail. Is there any loss of performance? My 95-850 NA gets 24-26 mpg on highway with a full load of passengers (has 120000 miles). Any odd behavior during warmup from a start with cold engine? Is the engine running too cool or too hot? Another possibility is that the fuel pressure is out of regulation. These things would not by themselves trigger a code but could cause one indirectly.
