shifter button removal V70-XC70 1998

I have a 98 V70 XC with a cracked button on the shifter knob. It is an automatic trans. It is causing the trans not to be allowed to go into park and be able to remove the keys. I have been able to pry it over some to release the button is a major pain to do quite often. Does anyone have some insight on the removal and replacement of the button? Hopefully without shifter removal. Thanks
