ABS Sensors 850

My ABS light came back on a few days ago. Back a few months ago, I had Victor rebuild my unit. When the light came back on, I went to volvo to get a reading, $50 later, they said it was the unit. I contacted Victor that has a one year warranty and he tested it on his car for a week, no problem. I get the unit back and go for a test drive, the light comes back on. I am convinced that the unit is not the problem.
I was able to isolate the time when the light will come on: At first it is always off. It will come on if, and only if, I accelerate hard. If I drive smooth, there is not problem, I can drive fast or slow, that has no effect.
Can this be a faulty wheel sensor? How do you test them?
Thanks
