ETM (Electronic Throttle Module) S60 2001

I'm not sure if something is starting to get wrong on my ETM or not:

What I experience is when coming to a stop (I have an S60 2001 2.4 non-turbo manaual transmission) sometimes (not always) rpm drop to about 700 (not as low as 500 as reported here often) and then immediately recovers to the normal 850 rpm idle. That is all. If I wouldn't no about the ETM, I wouldn't worry. I'm afraid if I go to the dealer with that, they will say it is normal.

My question:
What is the sequence of events (from minor to worse) BEFORE the whole thing is dead and you get stucked along the high way?

Thanks,

Dutch
